Electrician
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our Clients engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, testing, inspection, and commissioning work across a variety of industrial environments. This role demands a proactive individual capable of working safely and efficiently on site, ensuring high-quality electrical solutions that meet regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations to specified standards, including distribution systems, final circuits, instrumentation and automation cabling.
- Conduct electrical testing, inspection and fault diagnosis in compliance with current regulations and best practices (e.g., BS 7671).
- Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Work closely with engineering, design, control and automation teams to implement integrated solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, test results and compliance checks.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including risk assessments and safe system of work procedures.
- Support project delivery by helping to plan and sequence electrical work in line with project requirements.
- Provide input on materials, tools and equipment needed for tasks.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience as a qualified Electrician in industrial, commercial or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, regulations, testing and inspection standards (e.g., BS 7671).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety compliance.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to job sites as required (driving is essential).
Desirable Skills
- Experience with hazardous area installations (e.g., ATEX/DSEAR) and associated certification.
- Familiarity with control and automation systems.
- Additional technical qualifications such as CompEx, 18th Edition BS-7671, PAT testing or equivalent.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering and project-based environments.
