Giuliana Mellone

How long have you worked in the recruitment industry, and what brought you into your current role?

I’ve worked within the recruitment sector for over six years, and my journey began as a temporary worker in one of the branches. Having moved to the UK to start a new life, this role became my first opportunity to rebuild, grow, and find my place in a new country, something I will always be grateful for. From there, I moved into branch resourcing and administration, learning the day-to-day operations that keep everything running smoothly. I later stepped into payroll while covering a colleague on maternity leave, which unexpectedly opened the door to the finance side of the business. Since then, my role has expanded to include purchase ledger, systems, credit control, and facilities, giving me a well-rounded operational perspective and allowing me to better support both our team and our clients.

What do you enjoy most about your role at The Recruitment Group in today’s recruitment landscape?

What I enjoy most is knowing the work I do genuinely makes a difference. Recruitment is fast-moving and ever-changing, but being part of a team that supports one another, adapts together, and celebrates successes together makes it incredibly rewarding. There is something special about working in an environment where people truly care about each other’s growth and success.

Driven and Accountable resonates strongly with me. I take pride in delivering high standards and following through on my commitments, because reliability builds trust. In life, in work, and especially in this industry, trust is the foundation of every meaningful relationship.

How do you support and motivate your team to maintain strong credit performance?

I believe strong performance begins with support, clarity, and trust. I ensure expectations are clear, communication stays open, and everyone feels comfortable raising challenges early. I also make a point of celebrating wins, because when people feel valued and supported, they are more confident, motivated, and consistent in their performance.

In your role, how do you help TRG continue to exceed client expectations in such a competitive industry?

I focus on creating a smooth and reliable experience for our clients by ensuring strong processes, clear communication, and quick resolution of queries. By working closely with internal teams and truly understanding client needs, we build trust and deliver the consistency and care our clients rely on.

Is there an initiative or project you’ve completed at TRG that you’re particularly proud of?

I’m particularly proud of work that improves efficiency while strengthening collaboration across teams. Streamlining processes and improving visibility around credit performance has supported better decision-making, reduced risk, and strengthened our client relationships.

What advice would you give to someone aspiring to a role in the recruitment industry?

Stay adaptable, stay curious, and focus on building genuine relationships. Recruitment is a people-first industry, and success comes from resilience, empathy, and a willingness to keep learning and growing through every experience.

What do you most enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with my family is what fills my heart the most, whether we are relaxing at home, enjoying a walk in the park, or creating memories on holiday. Cooking is another great passion of mine, it’s my way of showing love and bringing people together. I also love staying active, going to the gym, heading out for a run on a warm, sunny day, and more recently discovering how much I enjoy cycling. And when I need to reset and de-stress, nothing beats a good session of energetic cleaning, it clears the space and the mind at the same time.
