The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Prepper to join a busy and professional bodyshop operation. This role plays a key part in supporting daily production targets and ensuring vehicles are prepared to a high-quality finish in line with customer standards. It is ideal for a skilled prepper who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing vehicles for paint, including masking, sanding, and priming panels

  • Inspecting prepared panels to ensure there are no defects prior to paint

  • Working on a range of vehicles, from small passenger cars to light commercial vehicles

  • Working in line with approved standards and processes set by paint and consumables manufacturers

  • Supporting other areas of the bodyshop when required

  • Checking work before starting to ensure previous repairs meet required standards

  • Completing parts requisitions accurately

  • Ensuring all work is completed within allocated timeframes

  • Working efficiently to meet productivity targets

  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Vehicle Prepper / Bodyshop Technician

  • Full, valid UK driving licence with the ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles

  • For insurance purposes, candidates must be over 21 years old and have held a driving licence for a minimum of two years

  • Willingness to support junior technicians and share knowledge when required

  • A passion for the motor industry with pride in delivering high-quality workmanship

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions when required

  • Excellent attention to detail
