Tool Room Machinist
Tool Room Machinist – Ashbourne | £30k–£32k
We’re looking for a skilled Tool Room Machinist to join our busy workshop in Ashbourne. If you enjoy hands-on machining, precision work, and taking pride in producing high-quality components, this could be the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Setting up and operating milling machines, centre lathes, saws, and drills.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to create accurate components.
- Checking finished work to ensure it meets exact specifications.
- Maintaining and caring for your machines and tooling.
- Working closely with engineers and the production team to improve processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on machinist experience in a tool room or workshop.
- Skilled with precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- This is not a CNC operator role—we need someone with full machining skills and experience, not just programming or operating CNC machines.
Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (flexible start time up to 1 hour)
Salary & Benefits:
- £30,000 – £32,000 per year (depending on experience)
- 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
