​Store/Dispatch Shift Manager

Flint, CH6

£28,000 - £30,000/year

Hours of work – 4 on 4 off 07:00am -7:00pm

Our client is a UK-wide company specializing in manufacturing prepared foods for the top UK grocery retailers such as The Co-Operative, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Aldi.

With three sites and approximately 3,500 employees, the company prides itself on a busy yet positive working environment, a culture of open communication, and a long-standing workforce – 60% of employees have given over 10 years of service. With 300 employees at the Flint site, it is a very fast-paced operation, with an impressive 500,000 ready meals being produced each week.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsibility of the Stores & Despatch department.

  • Control Labour, Transport & MHE costs.

  • Build relationships with internal business partners, transport and customers.

  • Liaise with internal/external business partners, including Planning and Transport.

Key activities:

  • Meet the daily production requirements from Stores & Despatch Department.

  • Attend daily Carryover & Planning meetings to ensure production requirements are fully met.

  • Ensuring all Stores Operatives are fully trained and competent in relevant procedures, including Health and Safety and Food Safety.

  • Ensure the team meets set targets e.g., Pick rate and Mis picks.

  • Promote a positive working environment with the team.

  • Identify and develop talent in the department.

  • Arrange ‘special’ vehicles as required.

  • Audit procedures e.g., Safety Tours, Racking Inspections, mis picks, stock accuracy.

Key Result Areas:

  • Service Level, target 100%

  • Team development, establish a well-trained team (JBA, Stock Control, MHE). Control Labour, overtime and consumables costs.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A Self-motivated team player.

  • Able to operate effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • A flexible approach towards working time would also be an advantage.
