Senior Automotive Technician - Workshop Lead

A well-established independent garage in Oxfordshire is looking for an experienced Senior Automotive Technician - Workshop Lead to take a hands-on leadership role in their busy, modern workshop.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on complex diagnostics and repairs while supporting and mentoring a team of junior technicians and apprentices. The successful candidate will ensure high standards of workmanship, safety, and efficiency across the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex diagnostics and repairs across a wide range of vehicles.
• Mentor and develop junior technicians and apprentices.
• Oversee daily workshop operations, including workflow and productivity.
• Support the business in building a high-performing, professional team.
• Carry out MOT testing in line with DVSA standards.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• MOT Tester qualification.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in vehicle mechanics, including diagnostics.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring is advantageous.
• Professional, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
