Recycling Operative

The Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Recycling Operative to join a Recycling area for our client based in Loughborough on a temp to perm basis. The Recycling Operative role is a hands-on and physically demanding role involving the sorting, weighing, recording and processing of recyclable materials. You will be responsible for ensuring materials are correctly identified, documented and placed into the appropriate recycling areas.

As part of the Recycling Operative role, you will also be fully trained to operate a range of specialist recycling equipment.

Location:- Loughborough

Department:- Recycling Area

Hours:- Full Time Days - Monday to Friday

Pay:- £12.71 to £12.85

Key Responsibilities of the Recycling Operative:-

• Carry out day-to-day recycling operations within the Recycling Area
• Identify and sort different types of recyclable materials
• Weigh materials accurately and record the relevant information
• Ensure materials are documented correctly in line with company procedures
• Place materials into the correct designated recycling areas according to their material type
• Move and handle materials throughout the recycling process
• Carry out regular heavy lifting and manual handling
• Receive full training to operate a range of equipment, including:
• Granulator
• Shredder
• 3D print filament machine
• Wire stripper
• Baling equipment
• Ensure equipment is used safely and correctly
• Keep the Recycling Area clean, tidy and organised
• Follow all company Health & Safety procedures
• Work as part of a team to ensure recycling operations are completed efficiently and accurately

The successful candidate will be:

• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual
• Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment
• Accurate and able to complete paperwork and records correctly
• Able to follow instructions and procedures
• Safety-conscious, particularly when working around machinery
• Willing to learn and be trained on a variety of equipment
• A good team player with a positive attitude
• Previous experience in recycling environments preferred.
