Reach Truck Driver

Department: Warehouse / Logistics

We are currently looking for a reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious Reach Truck Driver to join our warehouse and logistics team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, loading and unloading of stock within a busy warehouse environment. You will play an important role in ensuring goods are handled correctly, stock is stored accurately and warehouse operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a reach truck to move, lift and store pallets at various heights within warehouse racking.

• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.

• Move stock around the warehouse and ensure goods are placed in the correct storage locations.

• Carry out stock picking and replenishment duties as required.

• Complete stock movements and maintain accurate inventory records.

• Check incoming and outgoing deliveries against relevant paperwork.

• Identify and report damaged, missing or incorrect stock.

• Complete daily pre-use checks on the reach truck and report any faults or defects.

• Follow all health and safety procedures and warehouse regulations.

• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

• Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily targets and deadlines.

• Assist with general warehouse duties when required.

Skills and Experience Required

• Valid and recognised reach truck operator training and authorisation.

• Previous experience operating a reach truck within a warehouse or distribution environment.

• Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.

• Ability to work safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment.

• Good attention to detail when handling stock and completing paperwork.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and meet operational deadlines.

• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Health & Safety

• Always operate machinery safely and responsibly.

• Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Follow all pedestrian and vehicle safety procedures.

• Never operate machinery without the appropriate training and authorisation.

• Immediately report accidents, incidents, near misses and equipment defects.

Working Environment

• Based within a warehouse or distribution centre.

• Regular operation of a reach truck.

• Working towards daily productivity and performance targets.

• May involve manual handling and general warehouse duties.

• Shift work may be required, including early, late or night shifts.
