The Recruitment Group are actively recruiting for a Part-Time Laboratory Technician to join our well-established client based in Bracknall.

The Details:

This role is 21 hrs a week

Pay rate: £14.61- £17.81 per hour depending on experience

The contract is for 12 months.

About the role:

As a Lab Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • To provide technical assistance to scientists working in an R&D Laboratory responsible for design, prototyping and testing in support of internal technology development projects.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment (including 3D printers), load and clean parts, assemble parts ready for testing, and perform testing under the guidance of experienced scientists.

  • Monitor and maintain lab supplies and records.

  • Follow written and verbal instructions in order to prepare, operate and maintain laboratory 3D printers, laser cutters, hand tools.

  • Supports technical staff with product development by performing test routines (may include robotics) to determine the performance of prototype designs.

  • Record test results in laboratory technical notebooks or on electronic equipment programs.

  • Communicates results and information to the appropriate requester.

  • Follow lab procedures and risk assessments.

  • Contribute to the upkeep of documentation and risk assessments.

  • Perform data entry into systems to maintain health and safety compliance as required.

  • Maintains supply of inventory to ensure laboratories are properly stocked.

  • Order supplies of materials and consumables as needed.

  • Performs routine lab duties including shipping of parts to other sites.

About you:

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Experience in the operation and use of 3D printers for manufactured prototype parts.

  • Prior experience of working in a laboratory or product design environment.

  • Experience working with CAD packages, for example, Solidworks, NX or similar.

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Teams.
