The manufacturing team are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic fabricator/plater, who is looking for a permanent role in a busy manufacturing environment. The role will consist of, but not be limited to the following tasks
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Welding & fabricating mild steel structures (high mast lighting products) to engineering drawings
- Marking out, tacking up and fully welding of structures, masts and shafts 3mm – 50mm
- Drilling, tapping and hand profiling holes and door access holes as required
- Felting and cleaning of components with use of grinders
- Setting up of plant and machinery specific for the job in hand
- Use of crane to load and unload components from work area (crane/manual handling training to be provided in house)
- Cleaning all welds, removing excess spatter and slag
- Experienced in using a variety of tools common in welding & fabricating
- Experienced in understanding and following Safe Working Practices for welding equipment
- Maintaining a high standard of quality whilst working to deadlines set by Team Leader
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Fabricator/Welder qualifications required (Wiling to teach)
- Successful candidate will have to go through weld tests in-house to get coded recognition
Preferred Skills
- Experience of manual handling
- Good communication skills
- Experienced in reading engineering drawings

Overtime readily available at 1 ½ plus Saturday morning
