HGV Class 1 Night Driver

Location: Birmingham
Pay rate: £18.50 per hour
Start times: Between 3:00pm and approximately 7:30pm

The Recruitment Group is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for straightforward night trunking work based in Birmingham.

This position involves refrigerated trunking between locations, with no loading or unloading required. It would suit a reliable Class 1 Driver looking for uncomplicated A-to-B driving and regular evening or night starts.

Key responsibilities

• Completing refrigerated Class 1 trunking runs
• Driving safely between designated collection and delivery points
• Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
• Completing all required paperwork accurately
• Following planned routes and delivery schedules
• Complying with drivers’ hours and Working Time regulations
• Reporting any delays, defects or incidents promptly
• Maintaining professional standards while representing the client

The ideal candidate

You will need:

• A valid UK LGV/HGV Class 1 licence
• A valid Driver CPC qualification
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience
• A good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
• A reliable and professional approach
• The ability to work evening and night shifts
• An acceptable driving record, subject to licence checks

Previous refrigerated or trunking experience would be helpful, although the uncomplicated nature of the work may suit drivers from a range of Class 1 backgrounds.
