Job Title – Graduate Chemist
Location – Oxford
Package – Up to £27,000 per annum, plus benefits
 
The Business
Our client specialises in the formulation and manufacture of specialist chemical additives, oils, and lubricants for fuels, vehicles, and machinery. Supplying across Europe, the Americas and Asia, they are world leaders in their sector, with a third of all vehicles in the world using one of their products. With a turnover of over £1 Billion a year globally, their Oxford site is one their specialist R&D centres who focus on the development of new and improved products across a wide variety of fluids and additives.
 
The Role
The Graduate Chemical Engineer will be performing a full range of development and testing, from formulation, mixing and blending, testing, and reporting. This would involve trialling different minerals and metals against the specification and testing their effectiveness. Tests include Rheology, temperature, viscosity and stability testing in a variety of test equipment and machinery.
When conducting tests, the Graduate Chemical Engineer must ensure they are following the strict safety standards. Once each test has been run a full Chemical Analysis and Performance review report will need to be produced so the results can be reviewed.
The successful candidate will need to have a Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Degree and must have experience running chemical tests using laboratory equipment, either at university or within a laboratory environment. The business will provide full training on their specific test equipment, plus training around their specific product range.
