We're on the lookout for an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to join our well-established client based in Atherstone on a temporary 6-month basis, with the possibility to become permanent.

The details:

Full time (37.5 hours) £19.53 per hour 6-month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent

About the role:

As an EHS Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to site incidents and supporting investigations where required

  • Managing the EHS compliance to all relevant legislation

  • Managing EHS self-assessments

  • Managing training, SOP’s, document templates related to risk management including general and equipment risk assessment

  • Managing the site right assessment schedule

  • Carrying out High Hazards assessments, capture findings and drive actions to closure

  • Leading internal audits and support site legislative audits and aspects register

  • Supporting any EHS external audits

  • Managing site EHS training program Deliver/update EHS training packages in accordance with legislative requirements

  • Monitoring legal changes through the external portal and ensure these are rolled out when required

  • Ensuring compliance to key EHS Management Standards

  • Reviewing EHS requirements for new projects

  • Representing EHS in project meetings

  • Creating and implement engagement initiatives that improve safety for employees

About you:

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

  • The ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats

  • Good time management

  • Be self-driven to achieve objectives

  • Have good analytical skills

  • Have the ability to lead teams and participants on cross-functional teams

  • Auditing skills

  • Have experience working in an EHS environment
