Calibration Technician
Location: Bradford, BD4
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Salary: Up to £32k
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
We are recruiting a Calibration Technician to join a leading engineering organisation in Bradford. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the site-wide Calibration System, ensuring all measuring and test equipment meets internal quality requirements and external audit standards.
You will play a key part in supporting the Quality function, controlling calibration activity across the plant, and ensuring equipment compliance to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Calibration & Quality Control
- Perform on-time calibration of all relevant measuring and test equipment
- Maintain and update the calibration database with accurate records
- Coordinate all external calibration work and liaise with suppliers
- Measure and record samples as required
- Produce scrap reports and maintain supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal Quality Management Systems (including TS16949 standards)
- Support audits by ensuring full traceability of calibrated equipment
Safety & Housekeeping
- Uphold health and safety standards at all times
- Respond promptly to any H&S concerns within the work area
Risk, Equality & Compliance
- Work in line with company risk-management policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with equality, diversity, and ethical employment standards
General Responsibilities
- Routine visits to production areas
- Carry out any reasonable duties aligned with the role and business needs
What We’re Looking For
- Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship trained (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar calibration or metrology role (advantageous)
- Understanding of TS16949 or similar quality system requirements
- Knowledge of associated calibration standards (Plug Gauges, Micrometers, Calipers, etc.)
- IOSH “Working Safely” or similar qualification (advantageous)
- Excellent attention to detail and record‑keeping accuracy
Working Environment
- Mix of office and controlled factory floor work
- Comfortable, air‑conditioned office space
- Routine time spent in production areas (full PPE required)
