Running the Birmingham Half Marathon to Support Make-A-Wish UK

Taking on the Birmingham Half Marathon for Charity

On Sunday 3 May, Paul Hipkiss and Karinna Shields will be running the Birmingham Half Marathon to raise money for the incredible charity Make-A-Wish UK.

Over the past few months we have been putting in the training miles, from early morning runs to longer weekend sessions, all building up to the challenge of completing 13.1 miles through Birmingham. Like any half marathon, it will be tough, but the motivation behind it makes every mile worthwhile.

Training for the 13.1 Mile Challenge

Preparing for a half marathon takes dedication, discipline and plenty of determination. Early alarms, long runs and a few sore legs have all become part of the routine as race day approaches.

While the physical challenge is significant, the real motivation comes from knowing that every mile run and every donation raised will help support an important cause.

Why We’re Supporting Make-A-Wish UK

Make-A-Wish UK grants life-changing wishes for children living with critical illnesses, helping to bring joy, hope and unforgettable experiences to children and their families during incredibly difficult times.

Across the UK, thousands of children face the daily reality of serious illness, hospital stays and challenging treatments. A wish can give them something positive to look forward to, creating special memories and providing a welcome break from the challenges they face.

The work the charity does is truly inspiring, and we are proud to support such an important organisation.

How You Can Support the Fundraiser

Running a half marathon is definitely a challenge, but it feels small compared to what many of these children and their families go through every day.

If our training and race day effort can help contribute towards making even one child’s wish come true, it will be completely worth it.

If you’re able to support us, we would be hugely grateful. Every donation, big or small, helps make a real difference.
