Shifts – Various – Panama (2s and 3s) Alternating Days and Nights (7am to 7pm OR 7pm to 7am)
Maximum Basic Salary of £45k
23.5 Annual Leave Days (including bank holidays)
Our client is the UK’s market-leading laundry organisation specialising in automated laundry processing on a large industrial scale. The client also operates on a multinational basis and serves other businesses within the UK and Europe – however the successful Maintenance Engineer will be stationed at and serve the Dunstable site in the UK. Due to the nature of their organisation, the company’s usual client list includes the hotel and hospitality sectors, healthcare such as hospitals and care homes in addition to the commercial sector. From simple steam-pressing to extracting the absolute most stubborn of stains, our client uses state-of-the-art technology as standard to provide quality assurance and an essential service in driving the experience of markets such as hospitality and workwear.
The successful Maintenance Engineer will ideally be electrically biased however will utilise both electrical and mechanical attributes to confidently perform various servicing tasks across the laundry plant. For example, working largely across the plant floor, the mechanical tasks involve inspecting mechanical parts and equipment for any signs of wear or failure, in addition to performing preventive and reactive maintenance like maintain leaking pipes and pumps, replacing steam rollers, greasing joints and bearings as well as recalibrating gears.
Furthermore, the electrical work mainly encompasses works on 3 Phase Motors, electric sensors, having the ability to interpret electrical schematics and work with a multimeter to fault-find, and PLCs to dictate code to enhance operational efficiency. With this client, there are also pneumatic and hydraulic systems within their Dunstable plant line. Other duties include:
- Providing sound technical advice to Engineering colleagues where they encounter maintenance obstacles
- Carry out all maintenance tasks in a safe manner inline with the client’s Health & Safety policy
- Spearhead preventive maintenance tasks as per directed by Engineering Management and the HMI software panel, and emergency breakdowns as they occur on-site
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal fit for the Maintenance Engineer will ideally currently be working within the Automated Production / FMCG industry and be self-motivated and self-sufficient to adhere to deadline and ensure engineering integrity remains intact at the highest standard. You will also be:
Skilled in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance (with an Electrical bias)
At least 1 years’ experience in the Automated Production / FCMG industry
A Level 3 (Or Equivalent/Higher) Electrical Qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, NVQ)
