Transport Planner / Coordinator - Permanent Contract to start ASAP
Location: Birmingham City Centre (B2)
Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 per annum
Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 40 Hours
Duties:
- Building relationships with company suppliers by delivering ongoing support and training
- Supporting suppliers after they have completed an initial onboarding process with the company
- Brokering movements across company network to make sure vehicle movements are pre-allocated to suppliers
- Manage own group of suppliers and to ensure that operational and financial KPIs are met
- Occasionally handle remedial action and resolve supplier issues when necessary
- Mentoring suppliers, helping them to improve by providing honest feedback
- Effectively planning driver's days to ensure vehicles are collected and delivered on time and limiting driver's travel between movements
Candidate:
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Experience working within Transport Planning is desirable
- Excellent communication skills are essential, the role will involve a large amount of time on the telephone with suppliers
- Able to collaborate with the internal team effectively
- Able to contribute new ideas and offer ways to improve current procedures and processes
- Good negotiation skills would be desirable
