Milton Park – Oxfordshire
Role: Transport & Logistics Manager
Reporting to: Site Manager
Hours of work: Mon – Thurs (07:30 – 16:00), Fri (07:30 – 12:30)
Basic salary: £45,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience
Benefits: 24 days plus bank holidays, pension 8% (5% employer, 3% employee contribution)
A Leading manufacturer, specialising in sterilisation of equipment across food, medical device and the health care industry are looking to recruit a Transport & Logistics Manager. You will manage and maintain national and international transport operations of radioactive sources and ensure that products are moved safely, reliably and in a cost-effective manner to meet business needs.
Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers including; agents, freight forwarders and port and customs authority. You will also pro-actively seek alternative/backup suppliers to minimise risks and negotiate shipment costs
Provide effective stock/inventory management/control and shipping documentations
Be compliant with key industry bodies and regulations which may include; Transport Regulatory Agencies (UK & Oversees), Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) , International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), HMRC Regulations, European Union Transport Policy, and other relevant Road Transport & Logistics regulations
Work closely with the Site Manager to coordinate the company’s response to all transport security-related matters
Be the main point of contact as the company’s Export Controller to ensure compliance with UK strategic controls
Maintain High-Activity Sealed Radiative Sources (HASS) tracker databases
Manage logistics planning for movements of loaded and empty packaging as well as carry out specific transport arrangements with documentations relating to imports and exports via sea/air/road
Relevant Transport & Logistics qualifications i.e. CILT or qualified to HND/NVQ level 4 in relevant field
Formal qualifications or memberships from professional bodies linked to Logistics and Freight Industries would be desirable but not essential i.e. IMDG, IATA,ADR, IAEA
Proven industry experience within a Transport Management/Supply Chain Management role and experience of international shipments mainly by Road and Sea
It would be advantageous to have experience of dangerous goods but not an essential requirement
Valid UK Driving License
As this is mainly based in the Milton Park site in Oxfordshire, you will be located within a reasonable distance or willing to relocate
