Pre-Construction Surveyor

I am looking for an enthusiastic, results-driven Pre-Construction Surveyor to work for our prestigious construction client.
Working alongside the business development team, the Pre-Construction Surveyor will review construction contracts and negotiate with clients to ensure that terms and conditions fall within the commercial policy of the business.

  • Salary: £55k per annum (negotiable)

About you.
  • Strong Communicator: Confident in reviewing and negotiating bespoke and standard contracts, ideally with detailed experience in JCT and SBC sub contracts
  • Have the ability to engage with customers at all levels and build relationships whilst mitigating contractual risks
  • Good time management skills
  • Broad based construction industry experience, particularly the House Building Sector
  • A relevant bachelors degree or RICS membership
About the role – Pre-Construction Surveyor
  • You must be able to review credit references, prepare cash flow analyses and negotiate appropriate payment terms,
  • You will have the ability to review tender enquiry documents and provide advice on appropriate risk management
  • You will effectively collaborate with the Technical and Construction departments to review all specifications, build programmes, health and safety requirements and other ancillary contract documents,
  • You will display the ability to prepare/check the contract sum analysis and capture any extra over items or potential variations,
  • You will present contracts to the senior management team for approval before execution and highlight any remaining risks,
  • You must be able to prepare and present a handover of each executed contract to the relevant Quantity Surveyor
  • You will review and respond to letters of intent or instructions to proceed with work,
  • You will confidently be able to lead negotiations in client pre-let/pre-order meetings,
