We are looking for a Packhouse Line Leader to join a friendly team in well-established client ECO PAK based in Chatteris!
Working hours: 8am – until finish (between 16:00- 18:00)
Working days: 5 days out of 7 (including weekend cover)
Pay rate: £10.50/h increasing to £11/h once training is completed.
Run and administer a production line and machinery within the guidelines of the company procedures, health & safety and the requests of the production supervisor / manager;
Pack product as per the production plan created by the production supervisor / manager in a timely manner;
Supervising a small team of between 4-12 people to pack to the customer’s specifications;
Keep Line area clean and free from hazards – adopting the company 'clean as you go' policy;
Ensure product quality integrity and traceability is maintained;
Work alongside the Production Supervisor / Manager, QA, technical & other production teams in a positive and professional manner;
Check labels in accordance with the label checking procedure and in conjunction with the QA.
Lead the following: trimming, weighing & grading Tomatoes, Peppers & Cucumbers to the customer’s specifications;
Unstack boxes/customer trays from a pallet up to shoulder height or from a safety ladder which weigh an average case weight of 10Kg;
To make sure the pallets are stacked to conform to the customer’s delivery standards;
Make sure the team adhere to hygiene policy.
Communicates in a manner that is professional & understandable within the business;
Good level of verbal and a basic level of written English;
Check and administer the line start up sheets including checking the check weighers, emergency stops, jewellery policy
Positive and diplomatic;
Acute attention to detail – visual & paperwork;
Previous Packhouse Experience
Not severely Green / Red colour blind because tomatoes are the bulk of our supply and this will make it very difficult to pick out backward fruit, which in turn will make it difficult to pack to the customer’s specification;
Good Basic Level of Maths;
Basic Computer Literacy – Generally comfortable with computers and not afraid to learn new systems.
Computer Literacy – Basic understanding of Microsoft: Excel, Word, Email;
Product Awareness – Tomatoes, Peppers & Cucumbers;
Redpack Flow-wrapper experience;
Sorma Multi-head experience;
Yamato Check weigher experience;
Line leader/machine operator experience;
