The Business
Our client is one of the UK’s leading food producers, supplying to both supermarkets and other food manufacturers across the UK. With manufacturing sites across the UK they manufacture a wide range of fresh and cooked meats, pasta dishes, speciality dishes, dips, and speciality cheeses. The business also has a well established farm network of their own, with the bulk of their produce produced on their own farms here in the UK.
Turning over close to £2 Billion a year, the business continues to grow and expand their operations and product ranges. Thanks to this continued growth they are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their 9000 string UK work force at their Brampton Manufacturing Site.

The Role
The site specialises in the production of cooked and sliced meats for both Supermarkets and Sandwich Manufacturers. The site is split into two distinct areas; cooking and cutting, and packaging, with the Maintenance Engineer being responsible for Maintaining all equipment within the Packing side of the site. Equipment includes thermoformers, vacuum formers, vacuum pumps, check weighers, x-ray machines, metal detectors, and labelling machines.
The Maintenance Engineer will be doing an equal amount of both Electrical and Mechanical work, with the day shift focused towards reacting to any breakdowns that occur, and the night shift focusing on planned preventative maintenance tasks. As much as the majority of equipment is PLC controlled, the Maintenance Engineer will not be required to interrogate code or make modifications, however they will need to be able to fault find through to Inputs and Outputs using a Multimeter and read electrical drawings.

The Candidate
The client is looking for candidates with the following:
  • Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Qualification
  • Must be able to read Electrical drawings and fault find with a Multimeter
  • Must have previous experience maintaining or servicing automated manufacturing or production equipment
