Looking for a reliable and versatile handyman to join our dynamic team! If you have a knack for tackling various repair and maintenance tasks, we want to hear from you!

Job Title: Handy Man

Location: Field based Warwickshire / Worcestershire / Gloucestershire

Salary: Up to £28k (DOE)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm

Handy man / maintenance / general maintenance / Warwickshire / Worcestershire / Gloucestershire

Handyman are needed to handle general maintenance at three different sites.

Main duties and responsibilities of a Handy Man:

  • Maintain clean, tidy, and well-kept buildings and grounds.
  • Regularly inspect sites to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
  • As a Handy Man you must monitor and report health and safety concerns, taking immediate action to reduce risks when possible.
  • Order necessary materials and equipment with approval from the Senior Premises Officer or Head of Compliance.
  • Attend training, work safely, and keep accurate records.
  • Report and repair any hazards or structural faults.
  • Handy Man is required to coordinate with service companies and contractors as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies like floods, break-ins, and fires.
  • Communicate planned works to relevant managers to minimize disruption to students.
  • Perform all duties with compassion and consideration for the needs of Woodside learners.

Experience and knowledge required for a Handyman:

  • Craft skills like basic plumbing, electrical tasks, and decorating, or experience in caretaking, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Experience with both mechanized and non-mechanized DIY tools.
  • Experience in painting and decorating.
  • Clean driving license and business insurance.
  • Self-motivated with initiative.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Flexible with working hours, including outside school hours.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments related to premises functions.
  • Knowledge of moving and handling procedures and physically able to perform tasks.
