Hours of work – Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

About the Role
Our client is a UK-wide company specializing in manufacturing prepared foods for the top UK grocery retailers such as The Co-Operative, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Aldi.
With three sites and approximately 3,500 employees, the company prides itself on a busy yet positive working environment, a culture of open communication, and a long-standing workforce – 60% of employees have given over 10 years of service. With 300 employees at the Flint site, it is a very fast-paced operation, with an impressive 500,000 ready meals being produced each week.
Main Responsibilities:
The daily management of the associated budget for site maintenance
Contracts have to be negotiated with Engineering Spares/Equipment suppliers
Minimum downtime across the site by using preventative planned maintenance schedules
Key activities:
Ensure that the company complies with the statutory requirements of health and safety legislation thus providing a safe working environment for all employees
Management of PPM’s
To control and organise labour within the department to minimise overtime
Manage Engineering Apprentices
Establish, communicate and control departmental budgets
Ensure that all engineering staff are fully trained
Have a plan of action that reduces site downtime, this must be drawn up in conjunction with the Senior Production Managers
Negotiate contracts with Air Service, Scales Service Companies
Work in liaison with Engineering Spares suppliers so that spares are being held by them and not ourselves
Any other ad-hoc exercises as directed by the General Manager.
Key Result Areas:
Ensure all breakdowns are attended reducing time lost to a minimum, also filling in all appropriate paperwork Work closely with all the Senior Production Managers to make the plant improvements that lead to quality and efficiency gains
To control and organise labour in terms of shift rota’s, holiday/absence cover in conjunction with the Human Resources Department to ensure that agreed targets are achieved
Promote a working environment charged with pride and enthusiasm which is fun and rewarding to our employees
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Previous Experience (required to perform duties satisfactorily)
Minimum 5 years or supervisory experience within the FMCG sector
