Purpose of the CNC Machinist role:
Our client is looking for a skilled machinist to set, for yourself and others, and to operate production equipment within the designated unit/cell, with the close liaison and direction of shift leaders. You will be responsible for various processes within the immediate cell/unit and other units as and when assigned.
Main duties and responsibilities of a CNC Machinist:
Ensure accurate and timely setting of production equipment for both yourself and others.
Operate machine tools as part of the cell team to achieve delivery requirements.
Report tooling problems to shift leaders or other relevant parties in a timely manner.
Ensure successful operation of production equipment to obtain the optimum efficiencies during production.
Consistent adherence to quality standards.
Support Quality Engineers to investigate/collate and report on reducing scrap and rework within the cells.
Help Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance to improve cell functions.
Experience/knowledge requirements for a CNC Machinist:
Engineering Apprentice trained to national standard or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of two years machining experience in the relevant working environment or two years in similar operating environments (internally or externally).
CNC machining experience preferred.
Good communicator, to facilitate cross-department working and collaboration.
Ability to demonstrate good organizational and setting skills.
Ability to give tutoring to all employees/apprentices who pass through the cell/unit.
Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism and a positive work ethic.
