I am recruiting for aBusiness Development Manager to join one of the UK’s largest construction companies.

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the development of, and then implementation of a robust sales strategy to meet our business plan sales targets in a given region of the UK.
Salary and benefits

  • £45k - £50k depending on experience (negotiable)

  • Annual bonus 20% of your salary paid every December

  • 25 Holidays + Bank Holidays

About the role:

This will be achieved through a combination of cold calling, follow up on prospects and furthering relationships with current clients. A focused approach and consistent delivery is required to ensure sales targets are met across a range of market sectors and client types. The role is most suited to an experienced sales professional with a proven and demonstrable record of achieving targets for high costed products that require explanation, understanding of a client’s business and projects along with the ability to actively influence, persuade and sell successfully.
You will be accountable for:

  • Develop and deliver sales plan for your region using full, up to date and thorough understanding of the regional market sectors, economy, our competitors (their strategy, products, pricing strategy, tactical plans, financial deals etc) using our business plan and sales and marketing strategy as the basis for your plans.

  • Access risks for project start dates to ensure all projects are planned accurately for manufacturing requirements.

  • Development and provision of financial and sales reports monthly.

You must have:

  • Evidence of selling skills at the highest level

  • Excellent influencing and communication skills

  • Evidence of ability to deliver excellence in fast paced environment to strict budgets and deadlines

  • Understanding and experience of construction sector or high value product selling to business markets preferable

  • Self-motivated and driven with strong planned approach to delivery

  • Capability to evaluate opportunities and provide analytical reports on which to base decisions

  • Proven experience within a professional sales role

  • Strong administration skills and proficient with Microsoft office
