A day in the life - Ola

Since our inception in April 2021, The Recruitment Grown has grown hugely, and we now have over 130 employees working at 13 branches around the country. Some of these roles are extremely unique in their nature. 

We've decided to shine a spotlight on some of our most exciting and varied roles in the business to learn more about them and how they got to where they are today.  

Part 2 of this series puts a focus on Ola, our account manager/resourcer. Ola joined the business in January and has already become one of the most popular people in the business - winning colleagues and clients alike over with his infectious personality. 

Ola initially joined The Recruitment Group as a Resourcer in early January and was swiftly moved to the NRC (National Resource Centre) team at our central head office. Just recently Ola was promoted again (yes, again!) to become an Account Manager/Resourcer at our lovely Leicester Branch. 

We wanted to catch up with him and how the new role is getting on. 

What is your name and what do you do at the Recruitment Group? 

My name is Ola and my position at The Recruitment Group is Account Manager/Resourcer.

Tell us about your job! What do you do on a day to day basis? 

My day-to-day tasks consist of greeting customers & candidates with a smile and making sure that they understand the roles that we have.

We also get them registered with us, whether that means by hand, or by putting them on the system, and then, we transfer it all over. It's really just a case of getting up to grips with what they're going to be doing, finding them a role that fits them specifically, not just throwing them into essential roles but picking what they'll be strongest at. 

That's essentially my role, make sure they go out to the actual client, which I can get into work. So yeah, I'm essentially overseeing a candidate's whole journey.

What do you enjoy about working in Leicester?

I enjoy the area, I enjoy Leicester & working in Leicester, it’s a really vibrant city. Our office is right in the middle of the town so it's easy to access to get from one place to another. The food is amazing as well. My diet gets thrown out of the window half of the time but, it's a lovely place; a good environment.

How have you found your time at The Recruitment group so far? How do they help you?

The people in The Recruitment Group are amazing, lovely people, they're friendly and I can speak to people at work about stuff outside of work, get great advice and help for everything. All in all, it's a great place to come to work because you don't feel like somebody's singling you out. If you ever need help, nobody ever answers the phone and sighs; everybody wants to know how you are, it's an amazing feeling to have. I think this has probably been the best, no, not even think, this has been the best job I've ever had solely because they have seen my potential. 

What's your journey been like whilst being at The Recruitment Group?

So before joining the Recruitment Group, I used to work in call centres for about eight years, then I moved to The Recruitment Group in January this year. 

I started off as a Resourcer, essentially moved up to partially head a division of the NRC (National Resource Centre), which is where you help all the branches find people and over the past few weeks I have moved up to Account Manager/Resourcer.

So, in six months, I've had 3 different job roles, and that's just because they can see the growth, the potential in you. That's why I always tell people, "Look, if you want to come to this company, you will succeed as long as you put your head down" because they will see how good you are and what you do.
